Evie’s first words to me were “we want to go on an adventure for our elopement, we don’t want to fake it”. Thus began the most epic adventure imaginable - a 2 day, 28km hike to lake inside a mountain. Adventurous elopements don’t get more insane than this one.
We set off on Day 1 in the early hour of the morning with our bags packed with tents, food, wedding outfits and camera gear. Then ensued countless hours of slogging through the muddy marshes with the grand peak in the distance slowly growing in stature. All the while we kept saying “surely that massive mountain is not where we’re going”…sure enough, it was.
The morning after camping at the lake, we set off to the peak for our sunrise shoot. We were rewarded with the most unimaginable 360 degree views of the entire region. This is one elopement I will never forget.
