Nicole + Bernie

I’ve always wanted to go to Flinders Island for an elopement, the allure of untamed, faraway places mixed with good food, wine and an abundance of wildlife roaming the wild landscapes. It’s been on my travel bucket list for a while, so when Nicole and Bernie were searching for ideas for the elopement - this was the first place that came to mind.

Something I love to do is help couples plan their elopement. Nicole and Bernie didn’t have a location in mind, they just had a vision of how they wanted their day to play out. So in our first Zoom catch up, we basically just spent the whole time dreaming up the most insane elopement imaginable.

The initial plan was to climb Mt Killiecrankie for private vows, but the extreme Flinders weather quickly squashed that idea. 70km gale force winds will do that! Instead we went for a more wholesome plan of meditation, journalling and bike riding. Sometimes elopements don’t always go to plan, but that’s what makes them so awesome. I spent the whole day with N+B documenting their Flinders Island elopement, well into the night where we drank multiple bottles of wine and gorged ourselves on crayfish. I’m SO keen to go back to Flinders Island for another elopement soon!
