Marisa + Chris

Marisa and Chris came to me and said that the two of them were travelling to Tasmania were planning to elope in at Villa Howden. They put the challenge to me to find a location nearby that captured the natural beauty of Tasmania. Location scouting is one of my favourite things to do as a photographer. My assistant/best friend/dog comes with me and we hunt down locations that fit the brief. In this case, we found a nature reserve close-by that had nice long grass, open wide fields surrounded by gumtrees and a killer sunset view of the towering Mount Wellington – if that’s not Tasmania, then I don’t know what it is!

This elopement included a first look, an intimate ceremony overlooking the beach and a sunset picnic with champagne and denim jackets. If you’re thinking about eloping in Tasmania, I highly recommend Villa Howden as your one-stop shop!

“Villa Howden is located on the tranquil shores of North West Bay, on the edge of the Huon Valley tourist route. Nestled on its peaceful banks, the establishment’s landscape and natural serenity provide a picturesque backdrop for travellers.

Just 15 minutes from Hobart, Villa Howden is an ideal base. Discover the magnificent views of Mount Wellington, the picturesque beauty of the Huon Valley, our neighbour Bruny Island and the delicious food and wine that Tasmania is famous for.”
